Ghost Stories: Ghost Radar App for Droid

by Crystal Canole

So Kevin comes home from work one day and tells me that a guy at work downloaded this app for his phone and that it picks up spirits and talks to him.  Sounds interesting to me, so I decide to download it myself.

I go to the market and look for ghost radar.  Quite a few pop up and I download ghost radar classic by spud pickles.  It shows a radar and supposedly if there is a ghost it shows a dot on the radar.  In the bottom right it shows words/letters.  The only thing interesting that it showed me was my boyfriends first initial of his first name and last name.  Other than that, I am unimpressed.

Does anyone know of one of the apps that works?  I downloaded the one with the best reviews, but does not seem to work well, OR maybe there are just no ghosts around me.  Fun to play with, but I do not give it much credit.

I had downloaded the free version so I decided that I would download the version for 99 cents.  Hopefully I get some results.  We shall see.

The Honor of Becoming a God Mother

by Crystal Canole

Today my goddaughter is baptized.  I was asked by my sister, Deanna, to be her godmother.  This is a title that I feel honored to receive and will do my best by her and baby MaKenzie.

Becoming a godmother means a lot to me.  In olden days that godparents were responsible for bringing the child up in the religion and ensuring that this be carried out.  Nowadays it is more implied that these people will have a vested interest in the child and their development.

To me, being a godmother means having a child to teach, care for, nurture, support, and love as if they were your own.  MaKenzie has amazing parents and now will have a bigger network of people to rely on if she needs them.  I love her and will do my best to give her everything that she needs from me.

She looks amazing in her white dress and today she becomes a child of god.  She will be cleansed, die, and rise again with Christ.

Ghost Stories: Infamous Shuffling

by Crystal Canole

I am a huge fan of Ghost Hunters, Paranormal State, and all of the other ghost story TV shows on television.  They fascinate me even when they catch no footage.  I have always loved them since they came out.  The only time to watch them is at night when its dark and you are going to bed.

I watch them like this and only like this.  It adds to the creepiness of the atmosphere and enhances the viewing of the programs.  So one night I was laying in bed and watching paranormal state.

Paranormal State deals with a lot of creepy cases of suicide, evil spirits, and family's being tormented by the spirits.  The show in itself is a lot scarier than any of its competitors I think.  I was getting really freaked out and told my boyfriend not to fall asleep.  Well he did fall asleep and I was left to watch it alone.

I was getting tired so I decided to turn it off and go to sleep.  I turned it off and rolled over and immediately I heard what sounded like shuffling in the living room.  I told myself that I was crazy and to just go to sleep.  Then I heard the footsteps coming toward the door until finally they were coming in the room.

I immediately woke my boyfriend up because I was terrified.  The noise stopped.  I am going to assume it was just the rain making funny sounds on the sky lights, because it was raining hard outside, but I will never know.

Review: Unstoppable (2010)

by Crystal Canole

Unstoppable stars Denzel Washington and  Chris Pine as the lead actors.  They both work for the railroad company.  Chris Pine's character,Will,  just started his job but Denzel Washington's character, Frank, has been on the job for many years.  Presently the old timers do not like the new hires because the company is forcing the old timers to retire.

Will is going through a hearing over a personal protection order against him by his wife so he is very distracted on the job.  Frank sees this and keeps harping on him to do his job and get off the phone.  They get on the tracks with a train that has too many cars and hear that there is an unmanned runaway train heading there way.

The train is on their track so they need to get off in a side track.  The problem is that Will did not disconnect enough cars so they are not going to fit in the side lot.

The movie is a decent movie but nothing worth raving about.  It is very predictable and slow going.  If there is nothing else to watch its good enough to watch.  Although I am sure there are much better movies out there.
